Resolving body fat
1. Eating tofu and resolving body fat

Tofu contains constituents
that help the body burn and reduce body fat with low energy.

The term gbody fath refers to the fat accumulated in the bodyfs adipose (fat) cells. Body fat can be separated into two main categories; visceral fat and subcutaneous fat. Visceral fat is fat that adheres to the internal organs and accumulates in large quantities around the intestines. Subcutaneous fat is fat that accumulates deep under the skin.

In contrast to subcutaneous fat, visceral fat can have a significant effect on health if allowed to accumulate in large quantities. Visceral fat is easily broken down and people with large quantities of this fat release large amounts of broken down fatty acids into the blood just through normal physical activities. Elevated levels of fatty acid in the blood increase the risk of arterial sclerosis (hardening of the arteries). In addition, this high volume of fatty acid in the blood is carried to the liver where it is broken down and reconstituted into cholesterol. However, the burden on the liver increases as the concentration of fatty acid increases, which causes liver damage.

Alternately, subcutaneous fat is more difficult to break down and consequently has a negligible effect on health. However, there are many people who are concerned about subcutaneous fat from a cosmetic perspective. Subcutaneous fat is difficult to reduce while levels of visceral fat remain high. If body fat is considered in terms of savings in a bank, visceral fat is the ordinary account and subcutaneous fat is the fixed-term deposit account. People with money in their ordinary accounts generally do not take money out of their fixed term deposit accounts. Likewise, subcutaneous fat levels do not decrease while there is plenty of visceral fat.

Visceral fat can be reduced comparatively easily through lowered food energy intake or through high energy consumption through physical activities.

As tofu is a low energy food and can be eaten in mass quantities, it helps to prevent the over-eating of other high energy foods, while its high protein content promotes the development of muscles, which will in turn increase energy consumption. In these ways, tofu can help the body to burn and reduce body fat.
